Trumpeter Sean Jones from the Duquesne Mary Pappert School of Music performed on Monday, June 15th at the White House for the first session in First Lady Michelle Obama's Music Series. Jones was joined by fellow trumpeter Wynton Marsalis among others.

The event's purpose was to educate the public on Jazz and music in general. Jones participated in a Jazz workshop for over 150 grade schoolers that were in attendance. The workshop was a success and ended in a concert performed by the Marsalis brothers, Sean Jones, and other Jazz musicians from around the country.

Sean Jones is well known and respected in the international Jazz community and periodically performs in and around the Pittsburgh area and the throughout the country.

In other news there was a carjacking on campus last night. Glad to see they finally caught someone breaking into cars on campus. It happens regularly.
