A Duquesne Student's Blog

Just what I'm thinking about

Great Ghosts Alive!

The Dukes reach the semi finals of the Atlantic 10 tournament for the first time since 1994 by beating Rhode Island. Great game.

Ran a 5k this morning. Was a little tired after the day off without running. Its weird how i feel more tired after a day off than after running the day before. We'll see in I get up early enough to run tomorrow.

Dukes will probably play Dayton tomorrow with a chance at a Atlantic 10 finals appearance on the line. Lets go Dukes!

Dukes Win First Round Game VS Umass

My Dukes won their opening round game in the Atlantic 10 Tournament today to keep their post season hopes alive. I think one more win (vs Rhode Island) will get us into the NIT. This tournament is winnable however and we still have a chance to get into the big dance.

Ran 5 miles yesterday at a pace lower than 8 minutes a mile. That one hurt my knee a bit and will just do weights tonight.

My money's on the shark

Shark vs Bear

Sharks are much larger and have tougher skin. Obviously the location of the fight would effect the outcome but in most cases the shark would win.

New 5k record

I ran a quick 5k after classes today in 24'25", a new record for me. The indoor track was pretty busy which might have kept me motivated throughout my run. I dislike people passing me. I hope to break the 24 minute mark in a week or two.

I enjoyed my stay at my new home in Westerville and also liked the fact that there are parks nearby to run at. I am amazed with the amount of shopping in the area and the 30 screen cinema with IMAX nearby.

My Duquesne Dukes lost to Dayton over the weekend and in turn missed their opportunity for a first round bye in the Atlantic 10 Tournament. They play UMASS on Wednesday. It should be a tough game since Umass underperformed all season and has a lot of talent.

Back at Duquesne

I got back to Duquesne today and ran 4 miles on the indoor track. The corners are pretty tight but other than that it is a good place to run. After a day off on Saturday it felt good to run again. I started off at a slower pace than usual but was able to increase my speed throughout the run for the most part. Mile record is 7'21".

The Arnold Sports Classic was pretty hilarious. I have never seen so many disturbingly jacked people in my life. My spring break was a huge success fitness wise, since I ran Monday-Friday and today. I hope to keep it up!
